Ficus Benjamina, commonly known as the weeping fig or Benjamin's fig, is a popular houseplant belonging to the Moraceae family. Ficus Benjamina needs bright light, but it is best to place it in a partially shaded area, away from direct sunlight. Too much sun can burn the plant's leaves. This plant prefers moderate temperatures, between 15°C and 25°C. Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes. Ficus Benjamina needs regular watering to keep the soil slightly moist. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between each watering to prevent root rot. Be careful, however, not to leave the plant in excess stagnant water. This plant likes ambient humidity. Mist the leaves regularly with water to maintain good humidity around the plant, especially in winter when the air is drier. Use a balanced houseplant fertilizer about once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce the frequency of fertilizer during the winter.
