The kokedama this new plant art very trendy  arrives in our homes! It is an ideal gift to offer or to (treat) yourself because original and modern. In this article you will learn everything about kokedama: origin, maintenance, decoration.

Origins and symbols of kokedama:

Appeared in Japan in the 1990s, "koke" means moss & "dama" a ball, a sphere but also something precious. It consists of a moss sphere filled with nutritious clay substrate, on which rests a plant here the magnificent calathea makoyana.
For the Japanese, growing a kokedama and hanging it upwards is like free from gravity and rise to divine dimensions of love and peace.

How to maintain a kokedama?

- We place it in a bright space without direct sunlight
- We avoid putting it in places subject to drafts : entrance, kitchen, corridors
- We avoid heat sources to avoid burning the leaves of your Ficus
- As with plants, we favors watering with rainwater
- For watering, Simply bathe the sphere halfway in a large container of water for 5-10 minutes, 1 to 2 times a week depending on the season. Let it soak and then drain for a few dozen minutes.
