Sarracenia Clementina is a perennial herb that grows from an underground rhizome. It is known for its numerous urn-shaped leaves that radiate from the growing point. These "urns" are actually modified leaves that serve as a trap to attract and digest insects, a typical characteristic of carnivorous plants.
Physically, Sarracenia Clementina is an exotic, almost alien plant, with unusual leaf shapes and incredible colours. It comes in a wide range of colours, including green, yellow, burgundy and red, with some specimens even having red veins. The height of the plant, including the pot, is about 15 cm, and the diameter of the pot is 12 cm.
The plant is best known for its hollow, swollen leaves, or pitchers, which are exceptionally beautiful. The flowers of Sarracenia Clementina resemble a thick, flat disk surrounded by dark, brown petals. Its five petals are bright red and rounded, while its five sepals (closer to the stem) are reddish-purple on top and more pointed.
Sarracenia Clementina is an ideal houseplant for those looking to add a touch of the exotic to their collection. It is particularly well suited to humid locations and requires special care and attention to thrive.
