Is sphagnum harvesting sustainable ?
Sphagnum moss is not a resource ideal to harvest in large numbers for soil production, as this process unearths much of the CO2 stored in the soil. We are, however, proud that our sphagnum moss comes from a farm in the Netherlands, where only the upper part is harvested &; regeneration is the top priority.

Using Sphagnum Moss for Cuts
Sphagnum moss (also known as peat moss) retains moisture well while remaining very airy. This creates an ideal environment for the cuttings and reduces the risk of mold. Note that sphagnum moss does not contain any nutrients for your plants.

Sphagnum moss for moss posts
Moss posts are another great destination for your peat moss. The texture of sphagnum moss creates an ideal surface for climbing plants like monsteras & philodendron. There are many ways to build your own moss post using twine, PVC or chicken wire.
Sphagnum moss also has a large wick capacity, allowing it to suck up any water left behind at the bottom of the container so that the roots are evenly moist. This promotes healthy growth and prevents root rot.

How to propagate sphagnum moss ?
For propagation, hydrate the moss and squeeze out excess water. Fill your container and place the plants in the moss, making sure to cover any knots & knots. aerial roots, if present, because it is from them that the new roots will grow.

« Mon conseil : brumisez le feuillage deux à trois fois par semaine, surtout en hiver. C'est ce qui fait toute la différence pour qu'elle s'épanouisse durablement chez vous. »
