The size of the pot must be defined according to several parameters. The material of your pot is also important. Each material represents different advantages. Some POTS are in fact more adapted to certain types of plants. So, here again, this can quickly become a headache since there is a multitude of materials of different POTS : Clay, concrete, ceramic, plastic, etc. We often tend in these cases to favor the appearance aesthetic, but it is important to ensure that this is compatible with the future well-being of your plant.

The concrete pot

Concrete is a raw and mineral material which has the advantage of retaining the humidity of a plant very well. However, aeration of the soil and roots is not always optimal. It is very strong and resistant to temperatures. The texture of the concrete allows you to create POTS of different colors and shapes, which will allow you to find what you're looking for.  In addition, the refined and elegant appearance of the concrete pot will go well with perfectly with your plant. While bringing a minimalist tone to your room. Also, concrete being a fairly heavy material, if it is outdoors, it will have little chance of tipping over and will therefore resist violent winds. This will have the advantage of not damaging your plant. This pot resists all climates.

The clay or terracotta pot

The most classic pot, in terracotta or clay is the one that you will find most easily in specialized stores. The terracotta one is not airtight and therefore allows the earth to breathe. These POTS are very popular because they are very aesthetic and discreet. The one in clay has a more rustic aesthetic characteristic which gives it a traditional appearance which will blend perfectly with your plants. This material is also suitable for use interior and exterior.

These POTS are porous and breathe. Since the water evaporates through the pot, and it is not airtight, you will need to water the plant more often. This porosity will also allow air to penetrate more easily into the soil, which will allow the roots to remain healthy and fresh. Thus the plant grows in an aerated and drained environment. Little tip: remember to let your new terracotta pot soak for a little while. Terracotta POTS s are often very dry at the start and therefore risk absorbing all the water from your plant when first waterings. If you don't make sure to moisten your pot beforehand.

This pot is another mineral material, composed of natural stones, and colored marble, agglomerated with cement, all polished to give it the shine of a natural material.Retaining humidity very well, the terrazzo pot will be suitable for plants that just need it.

The wooden pot

Generally used outdoors, the wooden pot will give it a very natural appearance. It is very resistant to low and high temperatures and allows the roots to be well ventilated. Unfortunately, like any wooden surface that remains outdoors, it will tend to change appearance and color over time, due to rain and strong exposure to sunlight.
