5 tips for caring for your houseplants in spring.

It's spring, the time for your plants to wake up and start making new shoots and leaves. We offer to support you in order to better observe them, understand them, and help them grow well until the end of summer !

1. Remember to check the soil of your plants more often.

With the arrival of fine weather, rising temperatures and longer sunny days, it is very likely that yourour plants will dry out more quickly. So check your plants and their compost more regularly, and find your new rhythm for each of them. Keep in mind that plants in small POTS will dry out more quickly than those in large POTS, because the volume of soil there is minimal. If your air is dry, you will need to check them almost regularly.

2. Rethink your interior based on your plants.

It is recommended to take care to keep your shoots away from the window, the sun's rays are stronger there and the air is drier. Find a new place for your plants, where they will find the light and humidity they need.

3. Spring cleaning and caring for your plants.

Indoors, plants can more easily see their leaves covered in a fine film of dust. Not only does this diminish their beauty, but it does not facilitate their photosynthesis. Try to remember to gently wipe your leaves with a damp cloth from time to time to keep them healthy and vibrant.

Look at your plants and cut off the small, yellow, etiolated leaves, you can take the opportunity to take cuttings. This will help give a good start to its spring growth !

4. Spring is the ideal time to repot your plants.

The best time to repot a plant is early spring, because the plant will enter a so-called “vegetative” period, that is to say a period favorable to development. Take a good look at your plants, some will require a good repotting. Signs of a plant that is too cramped can be : the roots come out of the pot from the bottom (or the top!), the oldest leaves turn yellow and fall off, the plant no longer produces or produces few new ones leaves, the new leaves are small, the plant is curled up on itself... In this case it is time to find a new pot 2-3 centimeters larger in diameter, and to follow our guide to repotting !

5. New shoots ? Provide fertilizer to your plants.

After months without any new leaves on the horizon, your plant finally seems to be waking up ? Don't hesitate to give it some help.A little fertilizer can be welcome and the helping hand it needs, dilute it well, more than in high season, and don't add it every watering, use once or twice a month is sufficient.
